Dinwiddie man in custody after barricading himself inside home

DINWIDDIE, VA (WWBT) -

Dinwiddie sheriff's deputies were called to the 14000 block of Browns Road Sunday evening after a man had barricaded himself inside the home there.

According to Sheriff D.T. "Duck" Adams, shots were fired, but there were no injuries.

39-year-old Scot Kelley was taken into custody without incident. Kelley is charged with two counts of brandishing a firearm and one count of reckless handling of a firearm.

Adams reported there were other people inside the home who were able to escape to safety.

Kelley was taken to Meherrin Regional Jail and is being held without bail.
