Part of the highway through Oak Creek Canyon is back open after being closed because of weekend flooding.

The Arizona Department of Transportation says the section of State Route 89A near the Switchbacks, north of Sedona, reopened on Sunday night after crews removed debris from the roadway.

Much of the canyon faces increased flood risk due to burn damage from the slide fire. Area campgrounds and recreation sites in the canyon were already closed due to flood danger.
