Fran still can

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Fran Thomas is sidelined at the moment.

She can’t play golf right now due to doctor’s order. It’s something that doesn't sit well with the longtime Tucson resident.

You see Fran Thomas has been playing golf for 66 years. She’s 93 years old.

Thomas picked up the game in 1948 due to the fact her husband played quite often. The couple moved to Tucson in the early 70s and became members at Rolling Hills Country Club. When not under doctor’s orders, Thomas plays there about 3-4 times a week.

She shot her all-time best round of 67 at the course. It came while playing with two of the club’s male members. She beat both them.

She’s also carded three holes-in-one, the last earlier this year at the age of 92.

Thomas says the keys to her game are gripping down on the club and keeping her shots in the fairway.
