Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents detain suspected child predator

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Border Patrol agents detained a man wanted on child pornography charges at a checkpoint on Thursday near Three Points. 

The Tucson Police Department asked Tucson Sector agents for assistance in locating a suspected child predator, according to border patrol officials.

Agents working at the State Route 286 checkpoint encountered and detained the man, who was later turned over to the TPD.

    Two U.S. citizens are in custody after attempting to smuggle Mexican nationals into the U.S. on Monday, according to a release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
