TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Our Dave Cooney and David Kelly have full coverage of opening night of the NASCAR-sanctioned 10-race Whelen All-American Series at Tucson Speedway.

Eight-time points champion Ron Norman took the checkered flag in the main event, The Dry Heat 75 ran in the Super Late Models Division. He's the defending points champ of the recently completed season.

Norman had to rebuild his car after a wreck in the season's final race in late May but his new ride dominated all night from it's first run in qualifying all the way through the main event.
