Many customers know that when they walk into Soccer Post D.C. on any given day, they expect to see Eric Barden, General Manager of Soccer Post D.C., talking soccer with a coach or rearranging the store to always meet the needs of the customers. However, starting mid-July his familiar face will no longer be around. After more than three years of living life in the fast lane, he and his wife have decided to move to Charlottesville, Va. There Eric is hoping to take the next step in his career, as well as help build Orange Soccer Association in his hometown of Orange, VA. "If it wasn't for soccer keeping me busy and allowing me to experience new things as a kid, who knows what I would be doing. It is important that I give back to my hometown and to the sport I love by helping Orange County children experience soccer in a fun and exciting way," says Eric Barden.
With Eric leaving Soccer Post D.C., new management has been put into place to replace him. Urbano Castro or Junior, as he is called around the shop, has been hired as the new manager. Junior comes in with over two years in the sporting goods industry, almost fours in charge of youth development at D.C. United and countless years as a youth soccer coach. He eats, sleeps and breathes soccer. Junior brings in a great personality and caring attitude toward Soccer Post D.C. and the local Northern Virginia soccer community. Soccer Post D.C. is excited to place him next to the current staff of soccer experts within the business.
This is a new chapter for both Soccer Post D.C and Eric Barden, but both that is filled with great excitement for each. "I've had the privilege of making a living doing two things I love to do which are to serve people and help the sport of soccer grow. With the Reeves family believing in me, having a great staff, and serving a friendly soccer community, I don't believe Ive worked a day in the last three years. Soccer Post D.C. is strong now and will become even stronger into the future," says Eric Barden. Soccer Post D.C. is a staple of the Northern Virginia soccer community and will continue serving all its customers with the highest level of quality.
