TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Sunnyside Juniors Softball team won the Arizona State Championship Saturday in Payson with a 9-2 victory over Winslow.

The squad will now advance home to the West Regionals. Sunnyside will host that tournament at Mission Manor Park beginning on July 30th.

The Juniors club is made up of seven of the girls who helped the Sunnyside Majors win the Little League Softball World Series last summer.

If Sunnyside can win the Regional tournament they will earn themselves a trip the Juniors World Series in early August to be played in Kirkland, Washington.
