FC Tucson to host PDL Western semifinals, finals

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

 FC Tucson will host the Premier Development League Western Conference semifinals and final on July 25 and 26 at Kino Sports Complex.

FC Tucson will face the Vancouver Whitecaps U23s at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 25. The Whitecaps are the No. 2 seed from the Northwest Division. The top-seeded Kitsap Pumas will play the Ventura County Fusion at 6 p.m. the same night.

The winners of these two matches will square off in the Western Conference Championship on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

"Being the host site for the PDL Western Conference Finals is just another example of Tucson's vibrant soccer community," said the FC Tucson ownership group in a press release. "It's a testament to our fans' tremendous support all season long. Now we're bringing the excitement of the PDL playoffs home and we expect to have another huge crowd at North Stadium Friday night to support the hometown club."

FC Tucson advanced to the semifinals on Saturday night with a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Misioneros in thrilling fashion. It was the club's first ever playoff win.

General admission tickets to Kino Sports Complex for all playoff matches are $10. They can also be purchased on FCTucson.com.
