Extreme heat is back on in Arizona, here is how to stay safe

With temperatures flirting with records the next several days, you need to stay safe when walking out those doors. Here are a few reminders of what to do when temperatures rise to extreme condition.

  • Stay inside a cool ventilated place whenever possible
  • Restrict outdoor activities, be outside early or late in the day if need be
  • Wear loose fit clothing and white, to reflect the sun
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Take breaks often
  • Check on children and the elderly whenever possible and often
  • Never leave pets and children in your vehicle, that includes all living things

Records both this Wednesday and Thursday are at 109° from 1987. We are forecasted to be at 108°, which would tie the hottest this year so far.
