TPD Sergeant Kimberly Bay said it happened Saturday night in the 2300 block of South Saddleback Ave, near Golf Links, east of Pantano. TPD did not immediately release information on a suspect.     Northwest Fire District crews responded to an overnight fire on the northwest side of Tucson that caused major damage to a restaurant early Sunday morning.

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -  There are several events happening to celebrate the opening weekend of the modern streetcar.  Beginning Friday morning, as passengers are riding the rails here is a list of events. 

9 a.m. - Sun Link opening ceremony at 5th Avenue and east Congress Street, free event, though no backpacks are allowed. 

7 a.m. to 8 p.m. - Ice cream social at Maynards (400 N. Toole Avenue) - 'Put a scoop on It' will feature all sorts of ice cream delights, costs will vary for this event and continues throughout the weekend. 

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Ben's Bells (40 W. Broadway Blvd.) for a free map of the kindness themed murals along the streetcar route. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. 

10:30 a.m. - Presentation of the history of the streetcar - Roy Bldg. on the corner of N. Stone Avenue and E. Pennington Street; there will be a second presentation at 2 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 

4 p.m. to 11 p.m. a 60s themed beach party happening at the new 'pop up' beach at the corner of MLK parking lot (south 5th Avenue across from Hotel Congress)  This event is free. 

Saturday events - 

8 a.m. to noon — Food in Root farmers market in the MLK lot. Fresh produce, baked goods and locally grown and canned jams, jellies and honey for sale.

9 p.m. — Hotel Congress: Wet Hot American Block Party at MLK lot features water balloon fights, a water slide, DJs and live entertainment including The Furys, Shrimp Chaperone, Bob Felix, Sid the Kid and Jalph. It’s free but you need to be 21 and older.

Noon to 6 p.m. — Classic cartoons weekend at the Fox Tucson Theatre, (17 W. Congress St.) 

Sunday events - 

Noon to dark — Urban oasis at the MLK lot. This free downtown beach experience will contineu through August.
