(CNN) - Fast food eaters in China have fewer choices Monday because of a growing food scandal there.

McDonald’s says some of its restaurants are out of Big Macs and Chicken McNuggets, after a distributor accused of selling expired and dirty meat issued a recall.

Shanghai Husi, a subsidiary of Illinois-based OSI Group, said Saturday it would suspend sales and recall all food processed at its Shanghai facility.

This comes after Chinese television showed workers handling meat with their bare hands and processing meat that had fallen on the floor.

Many well-known fast food chains use the plant to supply their Asian operations, and several have said it would not use the company again.

McDonald’s says it would continue to do business with Husi, but with a different plant.

Meanwhile, Husi says it is cooperating with authorities.
