Sun Tran labor contract extended until Aug. 6

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Officials with Tucson's bus system and local Teamsters union representatives have agreed to extend the current labor contract until Aug. 6 to avoid an interruption in bus service while negotiations continue.

Sun Tran and members of the Teamsters union are negotiating a new contract. The current contract was scheduled to expire on July 31.

Sun Tran General Manager Kate Riley said in a news release, “The public can expect business as usual through Aug. 6.”
