Davis-Monthan to conduct active-shooter training

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Residents close to Davis-Monthan AFB could see an increase in police activity on the base, as personnel participate in an active shooter exercise.

According to a release from the 355th Fighter Wing, personnel on base will be partnering with local law enforcement to conduct active-shooter training. The exercise will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Active-shooter training helps both agencies that respond and airmen prepare in the case of a real crisis.

There are several buildings and locations on base that will be affected by this training, including street and gate access.  Impact to normal operations should be minimal for those who are not participating, said the release.

For more information contact the 355th Fighter Wing Public Affairs office (520) 228-3406 or the noise complaint hotline at (520) 228-5091.
