Sun Tran talks resume, scheduled for Thursday vote

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Sun Tran bus service will resume as normal on Thursday, but there's still not an agreement just yet.

Sun Tran officials and the Bus Drivers Union extended their deadline, which was supposed to be midnight on Wednesday to midnight on Thursday. The extension will give them time to vote on the final contract proposal before they decided to add another day to these talks.

Sun Tran listed the following route changes in the event of a strike:“Sun Tran will initially offer limited weekday service on Routes 3, 4, 6, 8, 11 and 16 from approximately 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Limited service schedules will be posted once finalized. For the latest information on possible service changes or for a list of alternate transportation options, call Sun Tran’s Customer Service Center at (520) 792-9222 (TDD: 628-1565), check Rider Alerts posted at the transit centers, or visit www.suntran.com.”

Tucson News Now will continue to track this story and bring you the latest on the vote, what it means for Sun Tran drivers and you.
