NOGALES, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Nogales commuters will see nightly road closures starting Tuesday, as Arizona Department of Transportation works to improve pavement conditions near B-19 Junction.

Western Avenue, Frank Reed Road and Country Club Drive will all shut down at I-19 from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on weeknights through late September. These underpasses span all the way to the international border.

In addition, the Interstate 19 on and off ramps at State Route 189 (Mariposa Road) and the Potrero Bridge over the northbound lanes of the highway will close daily for paving in late September.

This work is part of a $3.2 million improvement project, which consists of milling, paving and bridge repair. This construction should be complete by fall of 2014, depending on weather conditions.

For more information, please email projects@azdot.gov or call the ADOT project information line at 1.855.712.8530 with questions or comments.
