1 adult, 2 kids thrown from car in Hanover 4-vehicle crash

HANOVER, VA (WWBT) -

A driver and two children are in the hospital, after getting thrown from their car in Hanover County. Four vehicles were involved in the devastating crash off Washington Highway, near Lewistown Road, Tuesday afternoon. Witnesses say they saw the victims on the pavement.

Josh Ross works nearby the crash site. He ran to the scene after hearing the collision. Ross and his coworkers called 911. He says the blue car got smacked in the middle of the road by other cars.

"You hear that loud bang, the boom... You see all the smoke, all the cars piled up," said Ross.

Children's sneakers and a headrest from one of the cars, were strewn near the crash site. Ross says a man and two children, a boy and a girl, were thrown from a blue car. "The little boy had some responsiveness to him. The little girl did not at first... But I think she came around a little bit after resuscitation."

Hanover Sheriff's Office deputies continued to investigate the scene into the evening. Stay with NBC12 for developments on this crash.
