Suns announce 2014/2015 schedule

PHOENIX – The Phoenix Suns will tip off the 2014-15 season, and the club’s 47th NBA campaign, at US Airways Center when they host the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday, Oct. 29. Single-game tickets will go on sale at Suns.com and by phone at 602-379-SUNS beginning Friday (Aug. 15) at Noon.

Phoenix will debut offseason acquisitions Isaiah Thomas and Anthony Tolliver and first-round draft picks T.J. Warren and Tyler Ennis when the team opens the regular season with seven of its first nine games at US Airways Center.

Phoenix is scheduled to appear on national television a total of 17 times, including six games on TNT, four games on ESPN and seven games on NBA TV.

The Suns’ 41-game home schedule is highlighted by visits from the NBA’s elite teams, including the defending NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs (Oct. 31, Feb. 28), Eastern Conference Champion Miami Heat (Dec. 9), LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers (Jan. 13), and the Chicago Bulls (Jan. 30). Phoenix also renews Western Conference rivalries with home contests against the Oklahoma City Thunder (Feb. 26, March 29), Los Angeles Clippers (Jan. 25, April 14), Houston Rockets (Jan. 23, Feb. 10), Golden State Warriors (Nov. 9, March 9) and Los Angeles Lakers (Oct. 29, Jan. 19).

Twenty of the Suns’ 41 home games will be played from Friday through Sunday, including 11 Friday night home games, two Saturday home games and seven Sunday home games. Phoenix’s home schedule also features the longest homestand in franchise history, an eight-game stretch from Jan. 13-30 where the Suns will host the Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Los Angeles Lakers, Portland Trail Blazers, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Washington Wizards and Chicago Bulls. The eight-game homestand will surpass three seven-game stretches in Phoenix for the longest in Suns history (1982-83, 1992-93, 2009-10).

The Suns’ longest road trip of the season comes in November with a six-game trip from Nov. 15-24 that includes visits to the Los Angeles Clippers, Boston, Detroit, Philadelphia, Indiana and Toronto. Beginning with that season-long trip, the Suns will play 22 of their next 31 regular season games on the road before returning home for their eight-game homestand in January. Six of the Suns’ final eight games will be played away from home, though they close the season at US Airways Center vs. the Los Angeles Clippers on April 14. Phoenix will play 18 back-to-back sets this season.

FOX Sports Arizona remains the exclusive local television home of the Suns, both at home and on the road, continuing a partnership that began with the 2003-04 season. The “Voice of the Suns” Al McCoy will call his 43rd season of Suns’ action on the team’s flagship radio station, Arizona Sports 98.7 FM.

Home games Monday through Saturday will tip off at 7 p.m., with the exception of most nationally televised games. Sunday home games will begin at 6 p.m. excluding the January 25 matchup against the L.A. Clippers (scheduled to tip off at 4 p.m.).

A complete 2014-15 Phoenix Suns schedule is attached and can also be found on Suns.com. A full broadcast schedule will be released at a later date.
