YMCA fall programming expands to include fun new activities for both youths and adults.

Greenwich, CT (PRWEB) August 13, 2014

The YMCA of Greenwich announced registration is now open for their fall exercise, aquatics, and healthy living programs. As the YMCA continues to promote a healthy and active lifestyle, they have added new courses to an already impressive schedule.

The YMCAs Fall 1 session runs from September 6 to November 7. The lineup offers dozens of programs in Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility with instruction in activities ranging from Tennis and Basketball to Karate and Dance. Additions to the fall schedule include:

  •     Art and Beyond
  •     Youth Strength Training
  •     HIIT: High Intensity Interval Training
  •     Friday Family Fun Night
  •     Kids Yoga PJ Party
  •     Parent Date Night
Fall is an exciting time at the YMCA. The beginning of a new school year is the perfect time to try a new sport or exercise regimen, and our expanded fall program offers something for everyone. We love getting feedback from our members, so when we see interest in a particular sport or activity, we do our best to have it added to the schedule, said Ed Philipp, CEO of the YMCA.

A Zumbathon will take place on September 12th to kick off the new season with food/drink provided by Whole Foods. 50% of proceeds from the event will go to the Whole Kids Foundation to help fund school garden projects.

The YMCA aquatics program will also pick back up following an impressive summer for the Marlins swim team. This summer, the Greenwich branch sent 19 swimmers to the YMCA Long Course National Championships in Indianapolis, placing an impressive 18th out of 138 teams. The fall aquatics schedule offers an array of programs including:

  •     Swim School
  •     Marlins Swim Team
  •     Marlins Diving Club
  •     Greenwich Aquatics Water Polo
  •     Masters Level Programs
  •     Adult Aquatics
