TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Interstate 19 drivers will see traffic restrictions this weekend, as construction crews work to widen a popular exit ramp. Delays

will start around Valencia and I-19 at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Arizona Department of Transportation will close the right lane of southbound I-19, about a mile north of the exit. Workers will mill and pave the shoulder of the highway to prepare for a third lane on the ramp.

These traffic closures will remain until Sunday at 8:00 p.m., when the entire off ramp will shut down. This will stay closed until about 5:00 on Monday morning.

Construction crews will work to put down concrete barriers for the long term project and improve drainage while the road stays closed.

While the ramp is shut down, drivers can use Irvington Road or San Xavier Road to access Valencia from the interstate.
