TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Investigators continue to work to find out what sparked a fire at the east side Guadalajara Fiesta Grill near Kolb and Speedway.

The Tucson Fire Department determined the fire started in the southeast corner room of the restaurant but has not found the cause based on witness statements, fire patterns, fire dynamics and investigators' data, according to TFD Capt. Barrett Baker.

The fire investigative team continues to collect and analyze data to find new information to help determine the cause.

The Tucson Fire Department says when they arrived at the fire on July 26, they found the building's attic engulfed in flames and the restaurant was considered a total loss.

The Tucson Fire Department says it receives questions from the public about the restaurant fire every day.

The Guadalajara Grill was one of two popular Mexican restaurants with the same name, and both went up in flames just a couple months apart.

The fire came about two months after the Guadalajara Original Grill on Prince Road also closed because of an early morning fire. The cause of that fire has not been determined.

The Guadalajara Original Grill restaurant's Facebook page wrote, "Although we are no longer associated with Guadalajara Fiesta Grill on Kolb Rd. We are deeply saddened by their loss. We wish them all the best in their rebuilding." They wrote on Aug. 11 the restaurant expects to reopen the first week in October.
