Joe Zwiebel to Resume Leadership as Publisher

Hartford, Connecticut (PRWEB) August 15, 2014

After 12 years rising through the ranks at the Hartford Business Journal, publisher Gail Lebert will step down on September 1 to explore new career opportunities.

Joe Zwiebel, owner and founding publisher will step into the operational role of publisher for the Hartford Business Journal working alongside Associate Publisher Donna Collins a management team with knowledge, passion and deep roots in the Hartford business community. Joe Zwiebel began the HBJ as Founding Publisher in 1992 and has built the brand from a biweekly publication into a weekly award-winning organization.

Lebert will continue to work with the Hartford Business Journals executive team to facilitate a smooth transition, while remaining engaged with the publication and the business community as chairwoman of Hartford Business Journals newly formed Editorial Advisory Board.

This is a great time to turn over a new page both for the Hartford Business Journal and for me personally, Lebert said. I have loved my 12 years at HBJ, and feel confident about the future of the Hartford Business Journal under Joes skilled leadership. As you might imagine, I did not come to this decision lightly, but I leave energized and excited for my next opportunity. I am humbled by the outpouring of support that everyone has shown me during my tenure, and am grateful to my colleagues and the community for helping to make my time at the Hartford Business Journal such a great experience on both a professional and personal level.

Lebert joined the Hartford Business Journal in 2002 as advertising director before becoming associate publisher, and later publisher. Under her leadership, the Hartford Business Journal has grown significantly, In Print, Online and In Person. Lebert has been instrumental in the growth of the Hartford Business Journals 11 annual events, including the Connecticut Business Expo, 40 Under Forty, CFO of the Year and Women in Business. Lebert was honored in 2009 with the Small Business Administration Journalist of the Year award, and in 2012, was honored by Adelbrook, The Childrens Home, as a Women of Achievement and in 2013 by the YWCA New Britain Women in Leadership.

We all wish Gail the very best as she moves on to her next adventure, Zwiebel said. Gail is a curious, energetic, lifelong learner taking on new challenges and opportunities is just part of her DNA. She is leaving the Hartford Business Journal better than she found it, and I look forward to continuing to work with her in her new role developing and chairing the Hartford Business Journals Editorial Advisory Board. I appreciate all she has done to make HBJ the brand what it has become, and Gail will always be a part of the HBJ family.
