(FOX19) -

Constellation Brands Beer announced they're recalling packages of Corona Extra Beer that could contain small particles of glass.

The recall covers 12 ounce bottles in six-packs, 12-packs and 18-pack packages. Visit CoronaUSA.com/Recall for production codes, printed on the neck of the bottle, that are impacted and refund information.

Representatives say a production error occurred at a glass plants run by third party manufactures that supply Corona bottles. It is believed less than one percent the affected bottles are on the market, according to representatives.

"Upon discovery of this, this week we took prompt action to identify and secure potentially affected product and are working closely with wholesalers and distributors to minimize the impact on consumers. Our goal is to have as much of the affected product in our control as soon as possible," said a release from Constellation Brands.

Consumers are being warned not to drink the beer that is under the recall, but bottles not marked with one of the recalled production codes can be consumed.
