TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Arizona Athletics is developing a parking and transportation page to provide fans with complete information surrounding home athletics events including a map with game day parking options around campus. The page can be viewed at www.arizonawildcats.com/parking.

Parking in and around campus is very rarely, if ever, fully utilized on game days. There are several thousand spaces north of the stadium that end up available for patrons.

SUN TRAN INFORMATION

- The Sun Tran shuttle that ran from Hi Corbett Field and the Arizona Pavilion will not be available in 2014 because a federal law prohibits Sun Tran from providing the service.

- The Sun Tran shuttle was not discontinued as a result of the new streetcar. It was our intention to offer both services to supplement transportation on game days but it ended up not being an option for us.

- We continue to explore other options, including the use of the Cat Tran Shuttle from Park Ave. Garage.

CAT TRAN SHUTTLES FROM PARK AVE. GARAGE

- New for this year, Arizona Athletics and University of Arizona Parking and Transportation Services will be offering Cat Tran Shuttles from the Park Ave. Garage (located at the northeast corner of Speedway Blvd. and Park Ave.) to Arizona Stadium on game days.

- Parking will be $5 per vehicle in the Park Ave. Garage or free to carpools of 4 or more. All vehicle occupants will be able to use the complimentary shuttle, provided they present the parking permit issued for entry into the garage. Shuttle guests will need to show their parking garage parking permit to board pregame and postgame.

- Cat Tran Shuttles will begin two hours prior to kick-off and will drop fans off on 6th Street, immediately south of the stadium.

- Cat Tran Shuttles will begin returning to the Park Ave. Garage starting at the conclusion of the third quarter and ending one hour postgame. Postgame shuttles will run from the drop-off location on 6th Street, and will have appropriate signage.

- Cat Tran Shuttles will depart for their destination when they are full.

- All Cat Tran Shuttles are ADA compliant and have air conditioning.

SUN LINK STREETCAR

- Another new option for traveling to games in 2014 is the use of the Sun Link Streetcar. Fans can park in the downtown garages or along the west end of the Sun Link route and buy a $4 day pass for unlimited rides to and from the game.

- Sun Link expects to have six cars operating, each capable of holding 150 passengers, and they estimate the time between a car departing a stop and the next one arriving to be about 10 minutes during peak hours.

- Fans should use the Cherry/Warren stop, which is closest to Arizona Stadium.

- Sun Link estimates that fans can expect to get from campus to downtown in about 15-20 minutes.

- For more information on the Sun Link Streetcar, visit www.sunlinkstreetcar.com

- For more info on parking options along the streetcar route, visit www.tucsonaz.gov/parkwise.

NEIGHBORHOOD PARKING

- ParkWise manages a residential parking permit program in the neighborhoods surrounding campus and patrols those areas heavily on game day.

- We encourage fans to park in authorized lots and garages to avoid being ticketed.

The following is the new tobacco and smoking policy at Arizona Stadium:

- The University of Arizona has implemented a smoke- and tobacco-free campus policy effective 8/25/14

- As a result, smoking and tobacco use will not be allowed in and around Arizona Athletics competitions on campus

- The policy prohibits the use of any products that contain tobacco or nicotine, including cigarettes, cigars, pipes, bidis, kreteks, hookahs, water pipes, and all forms of smokeless tobacco

- All facility policies including no re-entry will remain in effect

- E-cigarettes are permitted in the outer upper concourse ramps on the east and west side of Arizona Stadium allowing patrons throughout the stadium to access those areas

- E-cigarettes are also permitted outside the skyboxes on the third and fourth levels on the west side of the stadium for fans with tickets in those areas

- For questions on the policy, fans can be directed to http://tobaccofree.arizona.edu/contact.
