Pima County Sheriff's Department helps rescue five people

The Pima County Sheriff Department's search and rescue team responded to five calls on Sunday.

Around 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning, search and rescue workers responded to a call for a missing 93-year-old person. The person was found before rescue teams arrived. The Southern Arizona Rescue Association (SARA) assisted in the search.

A 57-year-old male was rescued on Romero Trail. He suffered a broken ankle and was carried out of the area and transported to a local hospital.

Border Patrol assisted PCSD when a 16-year-old teenager was reported missing from his home in Arivaca, Ariz. The teenager was located by authorities.

A woman and one of four dogs she was with was rescued by the Sheriff's Department at Redington Pass on Tucson's east side. She was airlifted out of the park. SARA also aided in the rescue.

The final call of the day involved a missing 21-year-old female. She was rescued by helicopter near Tanque Verde Falls, approximately one-half mile away from the woman who was rescued with her dog.
