Cristobal strengthens to a hurricane

(RNN) - Cristobal is now a Category 1 hurricane with sustained winds of 75 miles per hour.

As of the 8:20 p.m. ET updated advisory, the storm was moving at 2 miles per hour and was located about 660 miles southwest of Bermuda. 

Forecasters predict a slow north-northeastward turn overnight with a gradual increase in forward speed on Tuesday. 

The storm is expected to move to the west and north of Bermuda on Wednesday. 

Cristobal is not expected not to make landfall in the U.S.
