A man and two juveniles are accused of robbing unsuspecting drivers using trash cans.
According to the affidavit, the juveniles pulled trash cans into the middle of Richards Road in Antioch Sunday morning and allegedly acted as lookouts, signaling when a driver stopped to move the cans.
Police said one driver who stopped was robbed by a man at gunpoint when he got out of his car.
The suspect was later identified by the victim as Eduardo Pizana.
Officers eventually tracked down Pizana and brought him to the Criminal Justice Center. He is charged with aggravated robbery.
Two juveniles who acted as accomplices were also arrested.
Neighbor Jim Moyer said he may have unknowingly foiled a similar robbery attempt earlier Sunday morning.
Around 5 a.m., Moyer saw his neighbor's trash can on its side, blocking the road.
"I just got out, picked it up, put it up in the neighbor's driveway," he said.
Moyer said he saw a vehicle parked two driveways down but didn't think much of it at the time.
"I thought it was the mailman, the paper boy, looking for an address," Moyer said.
The victim is this case was not hurt, but he did lose $80.
