Metro officer injured during chase

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A Metro Nashville police officer was injured during a chase on Monday night.

When police pulled over a car near the intersection of Lafayette and Second Avenue around 9:30 p.m., the driver and passenger allegedly jumped out and took off.

Two officers chased after the suspects.

One of the officers fell and broke his leg and was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The suspects were taken into custody a short time later.
