TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Customs and Border Protection officers made four arrests and seized over 120 pounds of drugs in separate smuggling attempts over the weekend, worth nearly $410,000 total.

Officers at the DeConcini crossing stopped a 34-year-old Mexican woman trying to cross into the United States on Friday. A CBP narcotics detention canine alerted officers to about 3.5 pounds of heroin, worth approximately $49,000, in one of the wheel wells of her Oldsmobile sedan, according to a news release.

On Saturday at the same crossing, officers arrested a 40-year-old Tucson woman after finding 76 pounds of meth hidden in her car. A CBP canine assisted officers in finding 60 packages of the drug with a combined value of more than $228,000, officers said.

At the Morley pedestrian crossing on Sunday, a canine team alerted officers to a 21-year-old Mexican man carrying 1.2 pounds of heroin, worth almost $17,000, inside the man's shoes, according to a news release.

Later that day, officers at the Mariposa crossing inspected a Chevrolet SUV driven by a 39-year-old Tucson woman. CBP said a narcotics canine helped officers locate 25 packages of methamphetamine, weighing more than 38 pounds and worth nearly $116,000.

The suspects were turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations and the drugs and a car were seized.
