Mahogany's reopened Saturday after the restaurant's vendor permit was stripped earlier this week for unpaid sales taxes.
A pink sign posted to the door Tuesday said the business is prohibited from making sales at the restaurant's location at 180 East Freedom Way. The state tax commissioner's office told FOX19 NOW that owner Liz Rogers would be required to pay the entire balance owed before the sign comes down.
Rogers' attorney, Rob Croskery, said the issues with the state sales taxes have been rectified but did not know the amount Rogers paid. The restaurant, which opened in 2012, owed more than $39,000 in state taxes.
"It's my understanding the restaurant will reopen tomorrow at normal hours," Croskery told FOX19 NOW's Jody Barr on Friday. Mahogany's website states the restaurant opens at 11 a.m. on Saturdays.
Mahogany's has faced numerous issues the location at The Banks, including being $35,000 behind on a loan from the City of Cincinnati.
