The first change will be to the Fort's main museum and annex. Work that will be done while the building is closed includes leveling the floor (in the Annex), improving lighting and making the buildings more ADA compliant.
According to the release the full story of the Buffalo Soldier will be featured in the renovated Annex building, when it reopens.
The Main Museum should be finished with renovations and reopen by March 2015, with the Annex opening sometime in May. The cost of renovating both buildings is $550,000.
The second change will be to the Military Intelligence Museum, it will move from its present location to adjacent to the MI Library, to make it more accessible to the soldiers at Ft. Huachuca for training. This move should also be complete by March 2015.
