TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Members of the Marana Police Explorer Post competed on Oct. 11 & 12, at the Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Explorer Competition.  The group competed against 12 other Explorer clubs from various departments across Southern Arizona.

According to a recent release they competed in the following events:

-High Risk Traffic Stops

-High Risk Warrant Service/Building Search

-Domestic Violence Investigation

-Unknown Traffic Stop

-Crime Scene Investigation

-Crisis Negotiations

-Tactical Tracking

-Operation Officer Down Rescue

-Active Shooter

-Use of Force Scenario

-Report Writing/Courtroom Testimony

-Law Enforcement Entry Level Written Examination

-Team Tug-o-war

-Team Obstacle Course

-Team Relay Race

-Individual Obstacle Course

By the end of the competition the Marana Explorers Post had placed in the following events:

1st place – High Risk Traffic Stops

1st place – Domestic Violence Investigation

1st place – Officer Down Rescue

1st place – Active Shooter

3rd place –Tactical Tracking Operation

3rd place –Crime Scene Investigation

According to the release, the group also placed 2nd overall in the competition.
