Shifting weather turns flight times into moving targets

Schedules changed throughout the day Tuesday at Tucson International Airport.  Weather and mechanical issues sent flights to Tucson earlier and later than expected.

Scenes of Families and friends reuniting were in no short supply.  Some travelers arrived hours later than expected because of mechanical delays that led to missed connections while others enjoyed smooth sailing home.  A harp played in one lounge as people waited for passengers to arrive.  Some said they were either glad to just be home, or they weren't finished with their journey.

"I don't want to go through the drive but I'm going to…  …Sonora, Mexico to visit my great grandmother,” said Alyssa Sandoval, who arrived from San Jose.  "I'm very excited, excited to spend the holidays with her.”

"Feels pretty good so far. Feels good to get off the plane," said Robert Miller, who arrived from Oakland. "You know, actually, it wasn't too bad. It was pretty much a breeze.”

To avoid waiting at the airport for a delayed flight, check TIA's flight schedule before you leave.  Make sure to have the airline and flight number.
