TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Sahuaro stole a high school basketball game from Cienega on Thursday night, literally.

Cougars senior Derik Hall picked the pocket of Bobcats freshman Jordan Green and drove the length of the floor to score on a layup with 2.5 seconds to play to lead #6 Sahuaro to a 47-45 Division II win over 11th ranked Cienega.

Hall was fouled on the play but missed the ensuing free throw. A desperation three-point shot by the Bobcats Terrence Johnson fell short.

Sahuaro (19-2, 7-1) erased an 11-point halftime deficit thanks to a 16-point 3rd quarter performance by Jordan Lane. The senior finished with a game-high 18.

Isaiah Murphy scored 11 for Cienega (16-3, 7-2) while Johnson added 10. The loss snapped a nine-game winning streak for the Bobcats who host Desert View on Friday night.

Sahuaro is also back in action on Friday at Catalina.
