Badgers' Romero celebrated

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The El Casino Ballroom once hosted some of the finest entertainment acts the nation had to offer.

The likes of Fats Domino, James Brown and Little Richard played the legendary hall on visits to the Tucson.

Friday night El Casino hosted one of the finest baseball coaches the city has to offer.

Tucson High head coach Oscar Romero was celebrated for his longevity and success as well as a past year in which he won his 400th career game as Badgers head coach and was inducted into the Pima County Sports Hall of Fame.

Romero begins his 26th season leading the Badger program. The school has won more baseball games and more baseball state championships (29) than any school in the country.
