MARANA, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Mountain View tossed a shutout at their former coach to advance in the AIA Division II Boy Soccer Tournament.

The 4th seeded Lions got a first half header goal from Justin Stoermer and a second half goal from Vadaunte Holland to beat #13 seed and rival Canyon del Oro 2-0 in a 1st round match.

Mountain View will host 5th seed Scottsdale Notre Dame Prep on Saturday in Marana. The winning result was the 11th straight victory for the Lions and 12th win in their last 13 matches after starting the season 0-3-1.

The win was also revenge of sorts for the Lions as it came against their former coach Jake Gillengertner who left after last season to coach the Dorados.
