Cynthia Washington - Tucson News Now

Cynthia Washington

Cynthia Washington joined the Tucson News Now team as a multimedia journalist in February 2015.

Cynthia was born and raised in Southern California. She is a graduate of San Diego State University and majored in Journalism. Although she graduated in three and a half years, she did not let that stop her from making the most of her time there. While in college, she interned at FOX 5 San Diego, CNN and spent a semester abroad in Singapore.

After graduating, Cynthia was hired as a multimedia journalist to help launch the NBC affiliate, WRGX, and report for WTVY in Dothan, AL. During her time there, she covered tornado damage, followed the story of a superintendent involved in sexual misconduct and interviewed Chinese billionaires who were looking to invest in the city.

Cynthia is excited to be back west. When she is not working, Cynthia loves to go to movies, enjoying the warm weather and spending time with her dog, Maxie.
