LOS ANGELES, CA - Senior guard Candice Warthen led the team in scoring for the 15th time this season, but it wasn't enough, as Arizona dropped a 77-51 contest to USC, Friday night inside the Galen Center.
Warthen scored a team-high 14 points and grabbed three rebounds, while junior guard Keyahndra Cannon notched her sixth double-digit scoring outing of the season, as she knocked down 4-of-7 shots from the field and dished out two assists.
Sophomore forward LaBrittney Jones nearly found herself in double-figures, as she chipped in nine points off the bench, while pulling down a team high equaling four rebounds.
The Wildcats connected on 11-of-13 free throws for 84.6 percent, marking the 12th time they've shot over 70 percent from the charity stripe this season.
Arizona (9-17, 2-13 Pac-12) began the game on the right foot, as it scored on its first two possessions to take a 4-0 lead early.
The Wildcats kept the offensive pressure coming, as they eventually extended their advantage to 10-4 over USC (15-11, 7-8 Pac-12), after Jones knocked down a mid-range jumper with 15:32 remaining in the half.
The two teams continued to go back-and-forth for most of the first half before the Trojans eventually took a 33-26 advantage into halftime.
Senior Alli Gloyd opened the second half with a made jumper to bring Arizona within 33-28 with 19:41 remaining, but unfortunately the Cats wouldn't get any closer than that.
Arizona will conclude its four-game road swing, Sunday against UCLA at 2 pm MST. The game can be seen on the Pac-12 Networks, while it can be heard locally on KTUC 1400 AM.
