For the third time in four weeks, pitcher Trish Parks has been named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Parks, who earned the distinction in both weeks one and two, stood out both at the plate and in the circle, helping Arizona to a sweep of the Wildcat Invitational last weekend.
Parks went 3-0 in the circle and batted .400 at the plate, helping Arizona to a perfect 6-0 week at home. Parks posted a 1.47 ERA in four appearances, earning three victories and her first career save. Parks struck out 10 while walking just two in 14.1 innings of work. On Sunday, Parks retired 12 of the first 14 batters she faced in a complete-game gem; the freshman struck out six Bryant batters while allowing just four base runners in Arizona's 18-1 victory.
At the plate, Parks went 6-for-15 (.400) in six starts. The Chino, Calif., native registered a hit in five of Arizona's six games, including a two-hit effort vs. UTEP. Parks scored three and drove in one run while drawing two walks.
For the season, Parks is 7-1 with a 2.09 ERA and is hitting .391 with four homers and 16 RBI.
Parks' recognition is her second in as many weeks and Arizona's Pac-12-leading 142nd conference player of the week overall.
