TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Paving work kicks off on a portion of Benson Highway Monday, as part of City of Tucson's Road Recovery program.
Construction will span along Benson Highway from Irvington Road to I-10, in both directions. The main work hours for the first few days of the project will be 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
On March 12, Tucson Department of Transportation will start the milling and paving work. The hours will switch to overnight, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. This should lessen the impact to travelers, according to TDOT.
This is one of many Road Recovery projects. This is a $100 million, five year street bond program. It's funded by voter approved bonds.
Residential and business access will be maintained at all times during this project, unless equipment is parked in front of a driveway.
