Women’s Golf Set to Host Wildcat Invitational

TUCSON, Ariz. University of Arizona women's golf will host the Wildcat Invitational on Mon.-Tues., March 16-17. The tournament will take place at Sewailo Golf Club, a par 72, 6,386 yard course, and will consist of 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.

Arizona's lineup will include senior Manon Gidali, junior Lindsey Weaver, sophomore Wanasa Zhou and freshman Krystal Quihuis. The fifth player will be announced after practice on Saturday. All other players will compete as individuals.

Arizona last hosted the Wildcat Invitational in 2012, when both the team and Gidali, a freshman at the time, won the tournament.

The 15-team playing field features No. 8 Arizona, Campbell, Houston, Idaho, Kansas, Long Beach State, Michigan, New Mexico, New Mexico State, No. 15 Texas A&M, No. 45 Texas Tech, No. 17 UNLV, No. 2 USC, Washington State and No. 48 Wisconsin (rankings from Golfweek as of 3/10/15).

Arizona last competed at the SunTrust Gator Women's Golf Invitational on March 6-8, where they took home the team championship and Gidali took home the individual title.
