Arizona to Host NAU on Saturday
TUCSON, Ariz. –

As their final home match of the spring season, the Arizona Wildcats will host NAU on Saturday, April 4th. The match will take place at Mulcahy Stadium at 2 p.m. MST.

Arizona and NAU last met in the fall, where the Wildcats defeated the Lumberjacks by a score of 1-0 at Mulcahy Stadium. The late goal came from senior LeeAndra Smith with less than five minutes left, improving Arizona to 7-0-2 all-time against the Lumberjacks.

"When we played NAU in the fall, we had some opportunities to try and break them down on the attack and we didn't do that until late in the game," said head coach Tony Amato. "So this week, we're focusing on some ways to be dangerous in attack. We definitely need to be better in those situations and finish those chances once we create them."

To begin the spring season, Arizona fell 6-0 to the Portland Thorns of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) last Saturday. The following day, the Wildcats defeated UTEP by a score of 1-0 on a goal from sophomore Paige Crouch.

"I thought this past weekend against UTEP, we had some chances that we didn't necessarily take full advantage of," said Amato. "We want to fine-tune some of the finishing stuff in front of the goal, be a little more dangerous in attack, and obviously our foundation is always to press and defend teams and make sure we battle defensively to not give up goals."
