VB: Cienega sweeps away Sahuaro

VAIL, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

10th ranked Cienega swept #16 Sahuaro (25-16, 25-20, 25-19) in Boys Volleyball Thursday night at the Bobcats' Baker Gymnasium.

The Cougars (6-4) jumped out a 7-1 lead in the opening set behind the power play of outside hitter Maxx DeLaOssa, but couldn't hold the momentum.

Cienega is only 10-9 on the season but eight of those losses have come to teams from outside Southern Arizona.

Tucson High is the only local school to beat the defending Section champions so far this season.

The loss for the Cougars snapped a three-match win streak.
