SVB: Cats Down Lobos on Easter Sunday

TUCSON, AZ -

The tenth ranked Arizona sand volleyball team closed out their series with New Mexico with a win on Easter Sunday, defeating the Lobos 4-1. Arizona finished off the sweep of New Mexico; UA defeated the Lobos 5-0 on Saturday.

Arizona's No. 3 team of Kendall Polan and Rachel Rhoades opened the match against New Mexico with the first victory against Devanne Sours and Chloe Crappell 21-11, 21-18.

The No. 1 team of Madi Kingdon and Kaitlyn Leary had a quick and easy match as they defeated the Lobos team of Ashley Kelsey and Hannah Johnson 21-9, 21-10.

UA's Madison and McKenna Witt of the No.2 team got a victory over Julia Warren and Eastyn Baleto in straight sets 21-10, 21-11.

The Lobos No. 4 team of Ashley Newman and Lise Rugland picked up a win in the first match against Taylor Arizobal and Allie Cook 23-21, 21-18.

Sarah Seiber and Hailey Devlin improved to 10-1 on the year with a straight set victory over the Lobos No. 5 team of Jackie Baro and Taylor Cross, 21-19, 21-8

The Wildcats' exhibition duo of Taylor Lane and Olivia Macdonald picked up a hard fought victory against Devanne Sours and Jackie Baro 21-16, 22-21.

Arizona is back on the road this upcoming weekend as it participates in the ASU sand volleyball challenge in Tempe, Ariz. on April 10-11. See full tournament schedule below.

ASU vs. Arizona on Friday, April 10 at 6 p.m.

Arizona vs. CSUB on Saturday, April 11 at 10 a.m.

Arizona vs. New Mexico on Saturday, April 11 at 3 p.m.
