TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Road improvement will cause slower speeds in midtown in the next coming weeks.
City of Tucson crews will micro seal Stone Avenue from Roger Road to Prince Road 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Driving delays should take place through Friday, May 8.
Microsurfacing is the application of a thin layer of asphalt emulsion that helps seal the roadway.
Workers will start the project by adjusting manhole and water valve covers, as well as prepping the roadway. Once the main microsurfacing is complete, construction crews will readjust the manhole and water valve covers. They will wrap up the project by restriping the roadway.
Travelers should expect lane closures in each direction as they head through the work zone.
Residential access should remain open, unless heavy equipment is parked in front of a driveway.
This pavement project is part of the $100 million, five year street bond program, Road Recovery. This program is funded by voter bonds.
