Cool Summer Nights June 2015

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -  As the weather warms up during the day, the night life in the Arizona desert really takes off. Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is kicking off it's popular Cool Summer Nights program. 

Schedule of events to help you plan your visit: 

June 6 - World Oceans Night 
Experience the desert at night when the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is open from 5 to 10 PM.  Join the celebration to honor the world's oceans and marine life; learn about threatened species and what's being done to protect them.  Enjoy sustainable seafood tastings by Starr Pass Primo and Fini's Landing restaurants. Regular admission rates apply.  Members free.

June 13 - Living in Harmony with the Sun 
Experience the desert at night when the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is open from 5 to 10 PM.  Tonight's focus is on the Sun – its magnificence and its potential harm.  View the sun through telescopes, learn about sun safety, and see how birds, reptiles and spiders have evolved adaptations to protect them from the sun.  Regular admission rates apply.  Members free.

June 20 - Saving Species Night 
Experience the desert at night when the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is open from 5 to 10 PM.  Tonight, watch live animal presentations featuring threatened and endangered species of the Sonoran Desert, hear real-life stories about jaguars and ocelots living in the Arizona-Sonora borderlands.  Plus, learn about the threatened and endangered plants of the Sonoran Desert region. Regular admission rates apply.  Members free.

June 27 - Bat Night 
Experience the desert at night when the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is open from 5 to 10 PM.  Tonight's event is all about bats which rank among the planet's most misunderstood and intensely persecuted mammals.  Learn about bat myths and gain a better understanding of these fascinating flying mammals.  Regular admission rates apply.  Members free.

Cool Summer Nights happens from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and events are free with Museum admission.
