Cunningham Tabbed Second-Team All-Pac-12

– University of Arizona freshman George Cunningham was named to the All-Pac-12 second team and the league's freshman team, the league office announced on Friday. Cunningham, a freshman from Tucson, has played in 13 tournaments this year and currently has a 71.5 per round stroke average. The 71.5 average ranks second on Arizona's freshman single-season list and is tied for ninth on the all-time list.

A heralded newcomer, Cunningham recorded six Top 10s and nine Top 20s, while posting 18 rounds of par or better during his initial year on campus. He opened his career with a tie for sixth place at the Southwestern Intercollegiate, and most recently, tied for third at the Pac-12 Championship.

Cunningham tied for second at the National Invitational Tournament and earned a share of fourth place at the John Burns Intercollegiate. He finished eighth at the Lamkin San Diego Classic as well. His low round of the year, a 67, came in the second round of the Arizona Intercollegiate.

Next up, Cunningham will find out Monday, May 4 if he is selected to participate in the NCAA Regional. The men's golf selections will be announced on the Golf Channel at 7 a.m. MST.
