Local nonprofits get grant funding boost

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Local nonprofit organizations are getting a boost on Wednesday morning. Wells Fargo and the City of Tucson are presenting $500,000 in grants to seven nonprofits to strengthen and revitalize neighborhoods and communities.

Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild will be on hand with the Wells Fargo Greater Southern Arizona Area President John Gibson.

The groups receive the grant funds are Community Food Bank of Southern AZ, Pima Council on Aging, Trees for Tucson, Tucson Urban League, Old Pueblo Community Services, Our Family Services, and Pima Community College Foundation.

Grant recipients were identified in collaboration with Tucson Mayor Rothschild to support five key areas: Support services for the homeless, neighborhood beautification and improvement, education and workforce programs, food access and economic growth.
