Trio of Cats Earn Conference Academic Honors

Sophomore Will Kneale, junior Matt Dunn, and senior Sumeet Shinde were all named Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mentions, announced by the league office on Wednesday. 

To be eligible for an All-Academic Team selection, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and either be a starter or a significant contributor on his team.

Kneale recorded a team-best 3.47 GPA while he's currently majoring in press-business. The Melbourne, Australia native notched dual match wins over Boise State's Lewis Roskilly and Southern Miss' Daniel Marker this spring. Both wins came from the No. 5 position.

Dunn kept an impressive 3.42 GPA and is currently majoring in accounting. The Tucson, Ariz. native compiled four wins on the season, including earning back-to-back victories on Oct. 31 in the first and second rounds of the Eaasley Memorial Classic. 

Shinde has compiled a 3.20 GPA and his currently majoring in business economics. The Pune, India native recorded eight wins in dual play, earning four from the No. 1 spot and four from the No. 2 position, while also claiming a victory over a ranked opponent. He was placed as high as No. 74 in ITA individual rankings back on Feb. 10.
