S.T.E.A.M. camps keep kids learning through summer

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Students from the Amphitheater and surrounding school districts will get the chance to take part in S.T.E.A.M. camp next week.

The camp is for students in grades 2-5 and runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The students will work on critical thinking, hands-on creativity and find solutions to real-world engineering issues.

There are two camps, Arts Exploration and Engineering Adventures.

    A family was displaced from their home on Sunday night after a nearby travel trailer caught fire and spread to their mobile home. Northwest Fire crews responded to a mobile home fire at 10:40 Sunday night in the 5600 block of N La Cholla Boulevard. A travel trailer was completely destroyed and the fire extended to the nearby home, according to fire officials. Quick work by the crews saved the home but three people and two dogs were displaced.
