Track athletes continue collegiate careers

TUCSON, AZ - Members of the Pima Community College men's and women's track & field athletes have signed their national letters of intent to continue their education and collegiate careers on the field.

Kaysee Pilgrim (Goldwater HS) signed her letter of intent to the University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV) last week. She was a three-time national champion in the high jump (two indoor, one outdoor) and a four-time NJCAA All-American in her career at Pima. She also tied the NJCAA outdoor national record in the high jump with a 6- 1¼ leap in April.

Brianna Rodriguez (Cienega HS) signed her letter to the University of Oklahoma a couple weeks ago. She competed in the long jump and was a two-time outdoor Region I champion. Rodriguez also captured an NJCAA national outdoor championship last season.

Anfernee Alexander (Santa Cruz Valley Union HS) signed his national letter of intent to Grand Canyon University. He was a two-time Region I champion in the discus.

Distance runners Anthony Spendlove (Flagstaff HS) and Sarrah Boughan (Canyon del Oro HS) also signed letters of intent. Spendlove signed to compete at Bacone College, an NAIA school in Muskogee, OK. Boughan signed to Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL.?
